With a Little Help From My Friends – Young Folks
If i told you things i did before
told you how i used to be
would you go along with someone like me
if you knew my story word for word
had all of my history
would you go along with someone like me
Forget about John, Paul and also Yoko. Here we’re talking about friends, about our personal life, about the music that they listen to, risking (oh, not so much) that someone could choose some really rough hip hop hit or the last big thing from the charts. The next Orange thing is talking about my friend’s favorite songs, and from now on the future posts will be dedicated to this subject, something that I’ll do cyclically.
I started it asking to the popular R.Ziffren which is her favorite song, nowadays, and suddendly a surprise. I don’t know it but I like it.
Don’t get confused with John, Paul and Yoko, here we’re talking about Peter, Bjorn and John with their “Young Folks”, a cheerful song but not too much, electro but without exagerating, melancholic but without getting you depressed: in short, a perfect song in Fall, with the cold-hot-cold of this season, for the weird stories that, we know, you like so much to listen to.
If i told you things i did before
told you how i used to be
would you go along with someone like me
if you knew my story word for word
had all of my history
would you go along with someone like me
If she’d know everything about him, who knows if she’d want to go on with him? These are stories of not actionable people, as Ziffren says, even if at the end everything comes to an happy end as in an Hollywood movie or something similar, because she doesn’t want to discover about his past, so let love each other as it comes, honey, cause life’s too short to put venom in your blood (or to drink bad wines), then peace and kiss me now.
